Malaga InformationMalaga Airport is located on the E-15 motorway which is a 15 minute drive from Malaga city centre. By car, from Malaga centre follow signs for Torremolinos. If you are collecting a hire car at Malaga Airport and are heading for the Costa Del Sol resorts, follow signs from the airport to the E-15 then head west for the busier resorts such as Marbella, Fuengirola & Torremolinos, or East towards the quieter locations such as Nerja.Malaga HotelsIf you need somewhere to stay close to Malaga Airport we can recommend Holiday Inn Express (see Trip Advisor reviews) which is around a 2 minute drive to Malaga Airport. For a budget hotel in the town centre Holiday Don Curro offers affordable rooms in a central location close to the shops and the old town. Parking in Malaga city centre can be a problem, especially during busy periods such as New Year, so if you have a car check that your hotel has parking, or consider taking a bus or train from the airport. It may be worth considering hiring a car with satellite navigation equipment if you want to reduce the risk of getting lost.Places to visit in MalagaMany holidaymakers will not see more of Malaga than the airport. Malaga itself offers many attractions for visitors and is worth a visit. Here are a few recommendations:
Alhambra Palace Granada
Within a couple of hours drive of Malaga is the spectacular is the Alhambra Palace in Granada, built by the Moors in the 14th century. The palace is a very popular tourist attraction and can be very busy in the summer.
Granada is also inland, so the temperature can be hotter than on the coast in the summer months and can also be cold in the middle of winter.
Be prepared to queue or alternatively you can book tickets in advance from the Alhambra Palace website. In addition to the architecture the palace has large gardens with ponds and fruit trees.
Malaga ClimateMalaga has an excellent all-year climate, and is a great winter destination for walking, golf and other outdoor pursuits.
